The Linux Foundation Makes It Official

The Linux Foundation launched the Agentic AI Foundation on December 8 with Block, Anthropic, and OpenAI as founding members. Agentic standards just moved from experimental to infrastructure-critical.

Three projects now have official backing: Model Context Protocol (MCP) from Anthropic, goose from Block, and AGENTS.md from OpenAI. MCP reached industry-standard status in one year, now integrated into Claude, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, VS Code, and ChatGPT.
